"Those who live by the sword, die by the sword". When will we human ever learn and start to realise that we are not Gods of nature, creation; science; medicine, etc., etc. In fact what have we really achieved: a one almighty M E S S !!!!!!!!!! But, let's keep "fighting" in our own ways.

It is AGW caused. This should be repeated again and again to the hoi polloi for the extreme weather events that occur in their experience. After all , teh science is settled that AGW is at work now; so it follows that weather effects now are due to this climate trend occurring now.

It is nonsensical to suggest that it is not due to the global climate trend operating now as this would be a counterfactual.

Probably. I think that is the answer we should start giving. The public has been taught to be immovably dumb. Hence they have zero interest in and cannot hear a nuanced answer.
